Class Goals

To expand your knowledge of conformation ring presentation and etiquette, and to help you and your dogs to reach your highest potential as a team and achieve the best results.

Class Levels

Beginner

Beginner class is for the novice exhibitor, someone with limited experience, to become comfortable with ring procedures, ring patterns, and how to show your dog comfortably and confidently to its best advantage. You will practice ring patterns, stacking, gaiting, and proper presentation to the judge. Throughout this process, you will become aware of what works best for you and your dog, and how you can be the silent partner in a winning team!

Advanced

Advanced class is for handlers who have participated in shows for a couple of years, and want to improve their methods and poise. Ideally, you should have handled a dog to their Championship, or have shown and won points, and had some Best of Breed class experience.

Observer

This version is for people who want to learn, but do not want to involve a dog in the process. This is a good idea for those who may want to take notes and do not want a dog to inhibit their ability to focus.

Weekly Classes

Barb also teaches classes every week (when not at shows or seminars) at Petropolis/The Academy of Pet Careers in St. Charles, located at 3550 West Clay, just off Hwy 70 between Zumbehl and Cave Springs.

Drop-in classes are weekly on Wednesdays at 7pm where you are welcome to drop in and see the unique way Barb teaches, or join in the classes at $12 per dog! Puppies are welcome for socialization at no cost.

Come on by, we hope to see you there!
